Setting Up Your Animal Crossing Home
Your new home is small, but it comes fully stocked with everything you need… a candle and an old radio. The outside isn’t much better, with just a small mailbox to the left. (Be sure to check your mailbox every time the flag is up – that means there is new mail waiting for you). Up to four people can live in your home to help pay off the mortgage so you can upgrade to a bigger model.
Let There Be Light
When you first enter your home, your candle will be unlit. To light it, stand in front of it and tap your character with the stylus or press the A button. Once you upgrade to modern lights, they will operate in a similar fashion.
Turn Up the Tunes
That old tape player may not look like much, but it will allow you to play music you get from KK Slider’s appearances at The Roost, a café inside the museum.
Move Stuff Around
Your house may be sparsely decorated at first, but you can rearrange things Move items to new locations by pushing and pulling them or changing the direction they face. If you don’t like what came with the house, you can grab the items to remove them.
Say Cheese!
Use the camera option to get a closer look at an item or to check out something from a different angle. Tap the camera icon or press the X button to choose different camera options. Tap or press a certain direction to move the camera that way, then hit the camera icon at the centre of the arrow cluster to return to the default angle. You can also press the X button again or tap the top camera icon to lock the camera view.
The Second Floor
Your bedroom is upstairs on the second floor. You cannot place items in this room – it is strictly for you and your roommates to sleep and save the game. However, you can use a phone in this room to reset the clock after you save, or to call your town’s Service Centre.
Set the Sounds
Use the Sounds menu to change how the characters sound when you talk to them – they can speak Animalese or Bebebese or just keep quiet. You can also set the sound to Stereo or Surround Sound.

Select Download to configure your Wi-Fi settings and to download items from the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to add extra content and fun to your Wild World experience.
Have a Happy Birthday!
Many of your neighbours will remember your birthday and give you gifts on your special day. Your neighbours have birthdays too, so be sure to check the bulletin board for birthday announcements. Your neighbours will have a party at their house, so don’t forget to bring a gift!
Trades and Quests
Sometimes neighbours will want something specific. If they see you have a particular item, they may offer you a trade for it. Even if you do not want the item, you should consider taking the offer. If you don’t have the item, track it down for your neighbour – the reward may be worth the extra effort.
Lending a Helping Hand
Neighbours will often ask you to run errands for them, like picking up medicine or retrieving an item they lent to a friend. Sometimes, though, these seemingly simple tasks will have you running all over town.
